Careers at Americans for the Arts

Lifestyle and Culture

We host a number of staff events and clubs to keep things interesting at work and to further enhance our team environment. With the artisanal cheese club, the book club, the arts and crafts club, and so much more, this is truly a unique place. We want the time spent at work to be enjoyable and fulfilling.

Our commitment of service to the community is also reflected in the personal lives and free time of our employees. Our staff participates in numerous charitable organizations and events at both the local and national levels.

We also encourage the personal interests and endeavors of our in-house artists whose accomplishments have included (to name a few) an award-winning short story, curating exhibits with internationally recognized artists, photography shows, and amateur award-winning filmmaking. Other staff members have been selected to teach courses at institutions including, The Writer's Center and The Corcoran College of Art + Design; and to participate in various fellowships.

Americans for the Arts managers maintain an open-door policy and actively work to promote a culture that fosters innovative ideas and collaboration. Our employees participate on cross-departmental teams to support our programs and projects. We strongly believe in career and professional development and encourage staff to seek opportunities to enrich their interests and work. We post all of our positions internally first allowing employees to examine their own career growth and to pursue their paths. We also offer a business casual dress environment.

In addition to advocating for arts for all Americans, we are committed to using environmentally friendly business practices to achieve our goals and to do our part to minimize our negative impact on the environment.
