Amanda Alef
Research Coordinator
Amanda officially joined the staff of Americans for the Arts in June 2010. In her current position as research coordinator, Amanda provides day-to-day coordination of research studies on segments of America’s arts industry. These studies—focused on such issues as creative industries, economic impact of the arts, and the health and vitality of the local arts agency field—are designed to be action-oriented, expand the conversation about arts policy, and generate greater awareness of the role and value of the arts in community life.
Amanda graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a Bachelor of Arts in dance and minors in education and sociology. She has had a passion for the arts, specifically dance, since the age of five when she began her training in classical ballet. While at UC Irvine, Amanda focused her studies on the intersection of the arts and education, and has since become devoted to advancing arts education in the United States.
E-mail Amanda.
