Ryan Atkins
Website and New Media Manager
Ryan joined the Americans for the Arts web team in October 2011. Prior to joining the team, he spent more than five years lending his web and problem-solving skills to the online communication endeavors of several nonprofit organizations in Washington, DC. This entailed a wide array of web-related tasks, ranging from the weekly production of three prominent online scientific journals to the distribution of free electronic English as a Second Language (ESL) resources. Prior to moving to the DC area, he obtained a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Iowa, double majoring in linguistics and Japanese language. A lifelong fan of music, Ryan first got his feet wet by playing the tuba and performing in swing choir as a kid and continues to sharpen his ‘skills’ by singing karaoke in his spare time.
