2003 Conference Information

Americans for the Arts is proud to present "Cultural Citizens: The Emerging Arts Leadership", its first-ever preconference designed to directly serve and encourage the growth of emerging arts professionals.  Emerging arts leaders nationwide are demonstrating integrity, commitment, energy and dedication to using the arts to impact our neighborhoods and cities.  Arts leaders with a range of experience are encouraged to attend this program to engage in dialogue, invest in and empower this next generation of cultural citizens, who will take on the charge of improving our communities and ensuring the future of the arts in America.

This inaugural two-day conference will feature presentations and keynotes with seasoned arts leaders such as Americans for the Arts President and CEO Robert L. Lynch and Harriet Sanford, President and CEO of the Arts & Science Council of Charlotte, NC as well as breakfast roundtables, innovative case studies and facilitated workshops on topics such as the changing arts administration field, leadership development, mentorships, balancing one's professional and personal life, and more.  Join us for a unique and refreshing opportunity to share strengths and challenges, connect with peers and experienced leaders alike, deepen our commitment to the field and return with new ideas for our respective communities.
