Emerging Leadership: Vision. Action. Evolution.
This preconference was designed to help emerging leaders adapt to changes in the economy, the field, and life, while staying true to their personal and professional goals. Participants developed personal and professional plans of action, connected to a national network of dynamic emerging leaders; and created skills for moving their vision into reality. Keynote speakers Kenny Leon, co-founder and artistic director of True Colors Theatre Company; and Naomi Shihab Nye, poet, essayist, children’s author, and songwriter, provided inspiration and guidance.

“I truly enjoyed the Emerging Leader Preconference, the energy and spirit of the participants was so motivating, I really feel lucky to have been able to meet so many phenomenal people doing incredible work in communities across the country.“

“I was very inspired by the peer, emerging leader council. They are all very talented, well-prepared, and energetic young people. The preconference was very professional and well-organized. The networking opportunities were also very good. The artist presentations were great.”

“I appreciate how smoothly this preconference ran—I think there was a lot of thoughtful consideration of the participants—in providing lost of breaks, treats, and goodies at each table. I also think the amount of information covered/presented was just right. The keynote speakers were truly inspirational and informative. Thanks for all your hard work. I look forward to returning!”
