Sheila Armstrong is the co-founder and executive director of the newly established U.S. Cultural & Heritage Tourism Marketing Council and the director of cultural tourism for Shop America Alliance. She was the co-producer of the 2005 U.S. Cultural & Heritage Tourism Summit in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the President’s Committee on Arts and Humanities.

Sheila lives in Hilton Head Island, SC where she serves as the marketing chair for the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra. Her responsibilities include the strategic planning and marketing of the symphony, the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, the Hilton Head Youth Orchestra and the annual Chamber Music Festival. She also serves on the Hilton Head Women in Philanthropy’s Board of Directors, chairing the communications committee.

She is a contributing writer for The Hilton Head Monthly, Shop America Alliance and Museum Stores Association magazines and, on behalf of the HHSO, has recently published Making Music, a book commemorating the Hilton Head Symphony’s silver anniversary.

Prior to moving to Hilton Head, Sheila served as regional director of marketing for The Taubman Company in Bloomfield Hills, MI, overseeing the marketing of major regional shopping centers throughout the United States.
