Arts Education
The Arts Education Track at the 2007 convention touched on our field’s most prevalent needs this year, offering lessons in Advanced Practice, Trends in the Field, Innovative Models, and Super Sessions that included all three. Including major topics such as advocacy, professional development for teachers, arts integration and the explosion of systemic change in California, the Convention brought in major funders, leading authors, and successful administrators to answer your questions and support your work. Sir Ken Robinson led the culminating MetLife Forum on arts education and the new workforce. We discussed gathering the support of parents and negotiating with school leaders. We heard from New York City, Arizona, Texas, and Seattle. From federal arts curricula to teaching artists and arts integration, we featured executive level intelligence, lessons to sharpen new skills, and opportunities to feed the national dialogue with your own opinions.
