Kate Prescott is the president of Prescott & Associates, a strategic marketing and research firm located in Pittsburgh. The firm specializes in consumer research and has extensive corporate experience with companies such as Nestlé, Zippo, Sterling Jewelers, General Electric, L’Oreal, Marriott Hotels, PPG, and Transitions Optical.
Ms. Prescott’s particular strengths are in strategic marketing research, aiding clients with opportunity assessment and new product development; positioning and brand building; audience development; and marketing strategy and communications planning. She received a master of science degree in marketing from Pennsylvania State University. Prior to starting her own firm, she spent over ten years in advertising—most recently as vice president and account supervisor/associate research director at the New York-based advertising agency Messner, Vetere, Berger, McNamee, Schmetterer.
Ms. Prescott has substantial arts experience, working with organizations such as the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, Honolulu Symphony, Houston Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, La Jolla Playhouse, San Francisco Jazz, Philadelphia Music Project, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Public Theater, Carnegie Museum of Art, League of American Orchestras, and Americans for the Arts.
Kate is on the Board of Directors of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council and was a recent recipient of the WQED/Dominion VITA (Volunteer in the Arts) Award for her contributions to the arts. She also serves on a variety of arts advisory boards and is a frequent invited speaker on marketing and research for the arts.
