John Mark Rafacz

John Mark Rafacz has been a newspaper reporter in suburban Chicago and a bookstore manager in Tennessee, but his most rewarding work has been helping to communicate the story of the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State. Rafacz, the center’s editorial manager, has worked in arts marketing for 15 years. His responsibilities include writing copy for brochures, print advertising, media releases, a website, and a blog. He also writes and edits PreViews, an online multimedia magazine that includes feature articles and podcasts about upcoming presentations. Rafacz has had the privilege to interview and write about artists as diverse as violinist Itzhak Perlman, dancer Savion Glover, The Chieftains’ Paddy Maloney, jazz singer Nnenna Freelon, banjo picker Béla Fleck, and choreographer Tania Pérez-Salas.
