Duane Blue Spruce (Laguna and San Juan Pueblo), an architect, has been with the National Museum for the American Indian (NMAI) since 1993, and is currently at NMAI’s Heye Center in New York City. From 1995–2005, he served as primary liaison (primary representative, advocate and decision-maker on all design and construction activities from project inception through project completion) between NMAI and the architectural design and construction team for NMAI’s new museum in Washington, DC.
