Citizens Taking Action
The Arts Action Fund is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit membership organization created by Americans for the Arts, the nation’s leading 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization for advancing arts in America. Launched on October 4, 2004, it seeks to engage citizens in education and advocacy in support of the arts and arts education. The Arts Action Fund’s goal is to enlist and mobilize 100,000 citizen activists who will help ensure that arts-friendly public policies are adopted at the Federal, state, and local levels, and public and private resources are maximized. Become part of this effort by joining the Arts Action Fund today.
National Arts and Humanities Month
National Arts and Humanities Month is a coast-to-coast collective celebration of culture in America. Coordinated by Americans for the Arts, it has become the largest annual celebration of the arts and humanities in the nation. From arts center open houses to mayoral proclamations to banners and newspaper articles, communities across the United States make sure their citizens pay attention to the cultural gems surrounding them.
Public Awareness Campaign
It came as a surprise to discover that most Americans actually understand the importance of arts education to their children. But what they may not realize is that their children are not getting enough. In our partnership with the Ad Council and local and state arts agencies around the country, we have created promotional ads to encourage parents to ask for more, and we give them the tools to do so.
