business volunteers for the arts®

“When I heard about the BVA program, I thought this is something we really have to do. Our business members saw BVA as a tangible value to their membership as it helped get their employees engaged in the community. We have added new business members as a direct result of running the BVA program.”
-- Virginia Willard, former Executive Director of Northwest Business for Culture and the Arts
What is a BVA?
Business Volunteers for the Arts® (BVA) is operated by partner organizations of Americans for the Arts to match mid- to upper-level business professionals as pro bono consultants with arts organizations.
Since 1975, BVA program partners have annually matched several thousand business professionals with nonprofit arts groups in such areas as financial systems, marketing and long-range plans, audience analysis and development strategy, and computer technology.
This highly successful BVA model is available to local communities across the United States. Each BVA chapter is a licensed program partner of Americans for the Arts. BVA has proven to be a dynamic and effective model for all types of communities generating over $100 million in donated services, cash, and other in-kind resources.
