Local Arts Education Policy
As the governing body of school districts, school boards prioritize educational programming based on state mandates and community needs. School boards are in the unique position to craft, implement, and fund policies that encourage administrators and educators to improve the quality and delivery of instruction.

School board policies have a direct impact on arts education in elementary and secondary schools. School boards can provide substantive leadership for arts education. Arts education policies vary depending on the district. However, there are certain success indicators that reflect an infrastructure that supports arts education at the district level.
