  • Miami-Dade County Public Schools
    Miami, FL
The arts are incorporated into the very fabric of the public schools’ philosophy, goals, and mission statement. Through the Division of Life Skills and Special Projects, arts education is given a prominent role in the educational framework of the school district. Each discipline—including theater, film, visual art, and music—is backed by independent mission statements, professional development resources, curriculum guides, and community resources.

  • Pasadena Unified School District
    Pasadena, CA
Pasadena Unified School District is one of the more than 80 school districts located within Los Angeles County. As a key strategy in Arts for All: Los Angeles County Regional Blueprint for Arts Education, the school board adopted a long-range budgeted plan on June 8, 2004. The district goal is to devote 5 percent of the general fund to arts education by the end of the seven to 10 years anticipated to implement a comprehensive arts education plan, which includes programming, facilities, and professional development. Pasadena arts and cultural agencies have made a commitment to match that goal in providing a variety of programs and services to Pasadena schools.
