Terms of Agreement:
Americans for the Arts agrees to provide:
  • A central online registration mechanism for all participants
  • Marketing on a national level
  • A sample press release and customizable e-mail for local marketing
  • A toolkit for each host that will include sample agendas; marketing materials; sample conversation starters
  • Sign-in sheets; and Americans for the Arts collateral materials, including information about the Emerging Leaders Network.
  • A point of contact at Americans for the Arts to provide support and answer questions from registrants

Host agrees to:

  • Determine a date, time, and location in October 2009 for his/her Creative Conversation
  • Advertise to the local community, including press outlets and colleagues
  • Use the Creative Conversation logo with promotional materials
  • Set the meeting agenda and coordinate all Creative Conversation event logistics
  • Lead the meeting: take attendance, facilitate introductions, delegate a note taker, lead conversation starters, distribute materials, keep conversation on task, and determine next steps (future meetings, group activities, etc.)
  • Provide Americans for the Arts with requested follow-up information (sign-up sheets, notes, summary of meeting)
  • Complete a Creative Conversation host survey

Host agrees to save and hold harmless Americans for the Arts and its officers, employees, and agents thereof from all liability for loss, damage, or injury to persons or property, which may arise out of services in connection with this agreement.

The obligations of Americans for the Arts to fulfill the terms of this agreement shall be waived in the event that “force majeure” (such as, but not limited to, inclement weather, public emergency or calamity, strike, labor disturbance, fire, interruption of transportation, casualty, physical disability, illness, flood, act of God, or other disturbance or any governmental restriction) prevents normal and usual operation of Americans for the Arts or associated organization.
