The Local Arts Advancement Department

Americans for the Arts is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America. Americans for the Arts is dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts.

Local arts agencies throughout the United States comprise Americans for the Arts’ core constituency. We also support a variety of unique partner networks with particular interests such as public art, united arts fundraising, arts education, and emerging arts leaders.

The Local Arts Advancement Department works to cultivate local arts development in communities across the country by developing and implementing programs and services that strengthen and validate local arts agencies and the many other individuals and organizations that advance arts, culture, and artists at the local level.

Through professional and leadership development, convenings, online resources, and peer networking opportunities, we provide vital tools, information, and resources needed to establish and implement favorable policies benefiting arts organizations, artists, and local cultural development nationally.
