Guidelines
Responsibilities and Terms
There are two, in-person PAN Council meetings each year. One is held in January, the other at the annual Americans for the Arts Public Art Conference. Members are expected to attend at least one in-person meeting each year, and to provide their own transportation and lodging. Members serve on at least one committee and are expected to take an active role in carrying out PAN's goals and objectives. Council members will serve for three years and are eligible to renew for a second, three year term.
Eligibility
PAN Council members must be members of Americans for the Arts and active in the field of public art as artists or administrators, urban designers, architects, landscape architects, art historians, or in other allied fields. The composition of the council is interdisciplinary and strives to represent a diverse range of approaches to public art. In addition, the council is committed to representing the rich composition of our nation’s communities and strives to have a diverse membership in terms of race, gender, age, and geography.
