Peggy has worked in the public art field for over 17 years. In collaboration with City of Portland (Oregon) and Multnomah County staff, she has implemented both temporary and permanent public art projects, launched and sustained a Public Art Murals Program, and created and managed a public art residency program. She has also managed public art projects for smaller municipalities in the Portland region. Peggy has served on multiple artist selection panels for other public art programs, conducted professional development workshops for artists and has spoken locally, regionally and nationally on public art issues. Expanding artist opportunities in public art, seeking efficient ways of selecting artists and developing management tools that best serve artists and clients are ongoing professional goals. Since serving on the PAN Council, she has worked with her northwest colleagues to form a Northwest Public Art Council that convenes twice a year, worked on cultivating Best Practices for Maintenance and Conservation, served on the Technology Committee that developed the blog, provided individual consulting to programs and individuals, participated in the annual convention planning and will be working on developing the on-line database of Year in Review projects. Peggy earned her BFA and MA in art from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a recipient of an NEA Midwest Artists Fellowship. Her artwork is included in the collections of Neiman Marcus, Northwest Mutual Life Insurance and Moritex USA in Tokyo. Her range of art-related experiences – portfolio preparation, creating/exhibiting/selling art, teaching, participating in jury processes, public art management -- have provided her with a rich perspective of multiple aspects of the creative life.
