Jerry Allen is the founder and principal of the consulting firm Jerry Allen and Associates. Jerry has served as the visual arts coordinator for the King County Arts Commission (Seattle); the executive director of the King County Arts Commission; the director of cultural affairs for the City of Dallas, TX; and the director of the Office of Cultural Affairs in San Jose, CA.

Jerry has served on scores of art selection panels and has been a member of several National Endowment panels. He has served on the board of trustees of the National Assembly of Local Arts Agencies and both the Board of Directors and the National Policy Board of Americans for the Arts, as well as the national advisory board for Forecast, publishers of the Public Art Review, the only national periodical dedicated to public art.

Jerry received his B.F.A. in sculpture from the University of Puget Sound and did graduate studies in studio art and public administration at the University of Washington.
