Newly Elected Council Members to Chart Course for Emerging Arts Leaders
Washington, DC—December 19, 2005—Americans for the Arts announced today the election of three new members to its Emerging Leader Council, a group that assists in developing programs and resources to promote the growth, development, and sustenance of emerging arts professionals nationwide.
“Americans for the Arts adamantly supports and promotes the development of new arts leadership,” said Robert Lynch, president and CEO of Americans for the Arts. “The future of the arts depends on embracing and cultivating these individuals. We are very pleased to welcome the new members to the Emerging Leader Council.”
Following is a list of the newly elected Emerging Leader Council members:
Eric Delli Bovi is the development director for the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. Eric builds the organization’s financial development to support efforts in community and youth outreach programs, concerts and special events, education initiatives, and other projects that serve 100,000 people per year.
Tyrha M. Lindsey is the associate director of public relations for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City. In addition, she has her own marketing/PR consulting company, L.A.I. Communications, which specializes in fundraising and creating strategic marketing/PR solutions with a focus on ethnic marketing for media companies, nonprofits, and small businesses.
Mitch Menchaca is the cultural community arts director at the Arizona Commission on the Arts. He administers grants and services to local arts agencies and ethnic, rural, and emerging organizations, and manages the Commission’s cultural tourism, folk art, and international programs. He was recently appointed to the art and culture committee for the Governor’s Arizona Mexico Commission.
